New Parent Support

Having a child is an incredibly transformative and life-altering experience for both gestational and non-gestational parents. Some new parents are in the “I’m doing alright” camp, but could likely use way more support, and some are actively navigating loss, grief, relational hardships, birth trauma, physical recovery, or postpartum depression and anxiety (or a combo of all of the above). I specialize in supporting new parents to navigate the wilderness that is the new parent journey through trauma-informed, somatic and expressive arts modalities!

New parent support might be a good fit for you if:

  • You are in the pre-conception phase and navigating disappointment, loss, fertility challenges, or fertility treatment.

  • You are pregnant and feeling anxious, depressed or fearful.

  • You’re experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression.

  • You experienced a roller coaster of a birth (as the gestational or non-gestational parent) and would like support in processing the challenging and/or traumatic parts of it.

  • You’re seeking new tools to feel more grounded and present in this new stage of life.

  • You’re feeling disconnected from your partner and/or experiencing new conflict in your relationship.

  • You’re experiencing guilt or shame around feeling disconnected from your baby and/or older child(ren).

  • You would like support in connecting with your transformed body (for gestational parents).

  • Your feeding journey with your baby is not going as desired.

  • You’re looking for a judgement-free space where you can feel heard and seen and not have to pretend that everything is always okay.

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed, under-resourced, exhausted, and lacking the “village” everyone always dreams of when having a child.

I also offer groups for new parents through my project The New Parent Diaries. Please see my offerings page for more detail about current offerings.
